Panibagong Simula (New Beginnings), that was the theme on Friday, May 21, 2010 as the Former President of the Philippines, Fidel V. Ramos, spoke regarding the recent presidential election and the potential impact on the country. The dinner was hosted by the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Georgia and held at Villa Christina. The event also succeeded in raising money for the Ramos Peace and Development Foundation.
Former President Ramos played a major role in the EDSA Revolution of 1986 and was the 12th president of the Philippines (1992 – 1998). During his six years in office, Ramos was widely credited and admired by many for revitalizing and renewing international confidence in the Philippine economy.
Having never met or heard the former President speak before, I must say he was very entertaining. Mrs. Ramos was in attendance as well and graced us by playing a piece on the piano.
A good evening was had by all in attendance including several members and friends of the Ramos Law Firm.
